Over 150 million people have visited the App Center in the past month and it drives 2.4 times more app installs than Facebook’s previous app dashboard.
By all accounts it is working well and Facebook says users who install an app from the Center are 35% more likely to return to it the next day.
It has proven to be a rich source of downloads for some social iOS and Android app developers. “The App Center is helping make small and medium sized developers more successful with Facebook. It generates over 30% of the total installs for many high quality web apps, and some social iOS and Android apps are receiving thousands of additional mobile installs every day,” says Facebook’s Matt Wyndowe.
The Facebook App Center was launched in a few countries in June 2012, with 600 social apps. Since then it has gone global and grown into something every app developer will be keen to be involved with.
“Over the coming months, we plan to continue to improve our recommendations, make it even easier for people to find apps, and create additional sources of growth for mobile apps,” says Wyndowe.
